Vienna (Mar 2015)

I’ve always dream of visiting Europe since I was a kid. Little did I know that because of my job, I will be given an opportunity to go to Europe.
Sometime around January, my boss said that I needed to visit our office in Poland. I was ecstatic! I started shopping as early as January, my coats, gloves, boots, scarves and those fancy winter shirts. Hey, my dream of wearing boots during winter is coming true, so don’t blame me!
So after all the fancy shopping and preparations, me and my officemate were at NAIA 1, waiting for our flight to Qatar via Qatar Airways. That was a solid 8-hour flight, which I spent on watching movies, eating and sleeping. Then in Qatar, we had a 6-hour layover. We went around the airport, discovering how big and fancy this airport is compared to NAIA. Then, my heart suddenly jumped, the PA just announced that our flight to Vienna, Austria is ready for boarding! I was literally dragging my friend to the terminal, I don’t want to miss the flight for crying out loud! My European dream is coming true!
Via Qatar Airways again, we had a 6-hour flight from Qatar to Vienna. We arrived in Vienna at 6AM, which is just perfect because our flight to Krakow is at 12PM, just enough time for us to roam around the city. So when we got out the airport, we wanted to figure out if we can really stroll the city. We went right up to the immigration officer, presented our passport and strolled right out. Oh, I never forgot to give the officer a big, good smile after that.

So from the airport, we immediately went to the train station for a 17-minute ride to the city of Vienna. Once we are out on the streets of Vienna, we looked for an authentic coffee shop (not Starbucks definitely), but an authentic European coffee shop. So while we walking, we stumbled upon Felber. In we went and started browsing their menu.

So I think I ordered some Austrian coffee, that I forgot what it’s called. But please feast your eyes on the cup below:

After the coffee sesh, we decided to walk around the famous Austrian streets. We saw a lot of things we never saw in Manila. How the streets are almost empty, how clean the place is and awesome the artworks are.

So there’s that! After getting lost, we got back to the airport just in time for our trip to Krakow, Poland. I will writing about Poland in my next post. Until then, I am Cee and I am your toasty and sandy traveler!
Danke,
Cee :)
